The idea for this decoy came to me years ago. I have always been a fan of products that make life a little easier, and make sense. Products that solve problems to common everyday issues or struggles if you will. The new age term “life hack” comes to mind. I have always been a fan of using decoys for hunting. Whether that be duck hunting, turkey hunting, or deer hunting. However, these decoys are typically bulky and some have some pretty hefty weight to them. One of the last things I wanted to do was lug around heavy bulky equipment. Decoys are typically the bulk and weight of equipment used on a hunt. 2D decoys solve a big part of this, but are only seen from two sides and can disappear if looked at facing the hard edge.

I knew there had to be a better product out there, but I couldn’t find it. I told my wife about this idea years ago. When I thought about it, year after year, season after season, she would listen to me say the same thing about the same products available. Two and a half years ago, after listening to me complain about it again, she told me to just take this idea and try it! That was easier said than done, but it did light a fire under me. I decided to look into this and see if it could be done.

Two and a half years later, 7 prototypes later, and hours and hours of sleepless nights, the Illusion Decoys Whitetail Deer decoy is ready for the world! Oh, and its Patent Pending!
